We are looking for an engaged deacon for Åre parish who wants to help develop the diaconal work in our congregations. The position includes both local work in Åre parish and overarching work in Åre pastorate.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the congregation's meetings with the elderly, including contact with nursing homes and honoring anniversaries.

• Responsibility for the congregation's diaconal meeting places.

• Participation in worship services.

• Lead volunteers with the International group – ACT.

• Opportunity to participate in the Livsnära project depending on the project's development.

• Individual conversations, especially the church's conversation support towards society and being attentive to the need for conversation support for youth in collaboration with other staff.

• Diaconal development work in a team with the pastorate's other deacon and work leader.

• Contribute to the pastorate's Sami work.

• Responsibility for work related to Continuing to Live/grief, possibly across the pastorate.

• Other varied tasks within the congregation's activities.

About You

You are a qualified deacon with experience working with the elderly, conversation support, and international engagement. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and secure in your role. Experience in Sami work is an advantage.

About the Position

The position is approximately 100%, of which about 50% is overarching across the pastorate. Start date by agreement. A driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required.
