Do you want to play a key role in the development of a completely new system? The solution will be used throughout the police operations – by the investigator, intelligence analyst, or HR specialist. Seize this unique opportunity!
The National Support Systems group is organized within the police IT department and is responsible for a wide range of systems, including the authority's learning platform, intranet, and weapon simulators. The group is also exploring how VR and AI can be utilized to better support the Police Authority's training needs.
We are now in the process of developing a completely new system related to various forms used in police operations. The forms may, for example, aim to assist the investigator in their work or in handling reports of concern and similar tasks within police work. For this work, we need a self-driven system developer with good skills and an interest in backend and web development.
Our workplace is located in Kungsholmen, Stockholm, and you have the opportunity to work from home two days a week when work allows.

Job Responsibilities
In your role as a system developer, you will have the opportunity to participate in the design, development, and quality assurance of a new development assignment within the police authority. The system will be used throughout police operations and will play an important role in the police's crime-fighting mission and contribute to an effective police operation.
Some technical points regarding the assignment/system:
The system will collect data via dynamic responsive web forms and then generate filled PDF forms with advanced layouts, or alternatively send the entered data to external APIs. The design of the forms will be completely driven by structured data, and the system should support a variety of forms and be scalable, robust, and maintainable in the long term.
As a system developer, your main tasks may include:
- Contributing to design choices and the development of a generic, configuration-driven system.
- Ensuring high quality in architecture, code, and documentation.
- Contributing to the selection of technology, frameworks, and architecture.
- Collaborating closely with the business requirements team, as well as UX specialists and our system integration group, as well as other groups in various technical areas within the IT department.
Within the police IT department, all groups act as product owners, which means responsibility for the entire product lifecycle, including new development, further development, and maintenance/support. You will work closely with a technical project manager and solution architect according to an agile working method where collaboration occurs close to police operations.

Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Relevant academic education in IT, or a degree from a relevant vocational training program, for example in web/system development or similar. Alternatively, you have equivalent acquired skills that can be assessed as equivalent.
- At least a few years of relevant work experience in system development and development of web-based systems, preferably from a complex IT environment with a particular focus/interest in backend development.
- Very good skills in development based on modern web technologies, preferably Java/Spring Boot, or C#/.NET, Node.js/other relevant JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, and/or Angular).
In addition to the above, we see that you have good skills in the following:
- Good understanding of data modeling and IT architecture
- Handling of structured data via JSON/XML schemas
- GIT or similar version control systems
- Development against relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL)
- System integrations and development against external APIs, primarily REST/SOAP-based
You need to master Swedish very well in speech and writing and English well in speech and writing.
The employment requires Swedish citizenship.
Meritorious
The following are particularly meritorious:
- Experience in developing systems related to PDF-generated documents (e.g., through .iText, PDFBox, wkhtmltopdf, Prince)
Any of the following competencies/technical areas are also meritorious:
- Development according to responsive design and accessibility (WCAG)
- Experience in developing systems with high demands on performance/scalability and security (e.g., related to role and permission management, traceability and logging, and secure handling of personal data)
- Good experience working according to a CI/CD flow
- Experience in developing public e-services
- Development of low-code/no-code-like solutions
