The Role of the Psychologist

As a psychologist, you will work with treatment individually, in groups, and via digital healthcare meetings. You provide individual advice, support, and treatment to children and young people with mild mental health issues at an early stage, such as anxiety, depression, stress, psychosomatic issues, and relationship problems. You also provide parental support and collaborate with schools when deemed valuable. You will be involved in continuing to develop our digital support program aimed at parents and adolescents.

Your tasks include mapping the mental health of children and adolescents. You will make qualified assessments and continue working with relevant treatment interventions. As a psychologist, you will also participate in the unit's ongoing and important development work.

Your work, in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team, includes cooperating with other child and adolescent services within the region and municipality. You will also have the opportunity to participate in cross-county process work.

Your Future Workplace

The Child and Adolescent Health service caters to children and young people from preschool class up to 17 years old with mild to moderate mental health issues. By taking a holistic perspective on the child's entire everyday life, we can make a significant difference with short, targeted interventions such as individual and group therapy and parental support. We also offer online CBT for adolescents.

Our team consists of psychologists, social workers, nurses, doctors, special educators, occupational therapists, and administrative staff. We work in a team-based manner and are committed to improving our services. We often collaborate with schools and social services. The Child and Adolescent Health service in Nässjö also works closely with corresponding services in Huskvarna and Värnamo.

Your Profile

We are looking for a licensed psychologist. You possess good knowledge regarding the mental health of children and adolescents. We prefer that you have experience in providing support and treatment to children and young people with mental health issues as well as parental support.

To thrive in this role, you should have a good ability to structure, plan, and focus on your work independently. You have a strong interest in working with children, young people, and their families. You are stable and secure as a person and have a good ability to listen and communicate, as well as being adept at understanding someone else's perspective or situation. You enjoy giving appropriate advice, understand how others absorb information, and have the ability to assess the need for continued contact. We also appreciate innovative thinking in work-related matters.
