to apply for the job

Have you grown up with a parent who has an addiction, mental illness, or has exposed you to violence and feel that you are doing well today? Now you have the opportunity to use your experiences and help young adults at Maskrosbarn.

About the position

Maskrosbarn is running a project funded by the Legacy Fund called “Next Step”. In this project, we will test, investigate, and develop three different support measures for young adults. The project will run until December 2027. If you are interested in learning more about the project, you can read about it here!

One of the supports consists of group meetings aimed at young adults aged 18-25, where the purpose is to reduce loneliness, foster community, share experiences, and gain tools to manage adult life. We are now looking for two group leaders to facilitate these meetings.

The meetings take place at Maskrosbarn's office in Stockholm every month and last for about 3 hours. Currently, they are scheduled for Saturdays, but since this is a project, the day of the week may change.

The meetings are based on a theme where you work from material and a schedule. Some meetings are more like a discussion group where the focus is to ventilate and share experiences. Here, it is important to be attuned to the group and be flexible in leading the conversations.

Other meetings will be structured as a lecture and workshop. Here we work to increase knowledge in various areas. This could involve how to budget or search for jobs.

The group leader's tasks will include:

  • Facilitating discussion groups

  • Conducting lectures and workshops

  • Working in a motivating and empowering manner

  • Preparing independently and coordinating with the project manager

The position is for about 12 hours per month with an hourly wage of 200 SEK including vacation pay. Start date as soon as possible upon agreement.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is warm, open, and genuine in their interactions with participants and colleagues. You have a high degree of personal maturity and can be a reliable adult for the target group. You need to be able to listen and read the group. We see that you can share about yourself and set boundaries where necessary. You need to be flexible from a group perspective to lead open conversations and discussions. You follow our method and can perform a certain amount of independent work.

You are comfortable working in a project that is under development where the format and details may change along the way.

Furthermore, it is required that you:

  • Identify yourself as a dandelion child. This is because we work with identification as part of our method

  • Have sufficient distance from your own experiences to be able to support others

  • Can travel to the office in Stockholm for group meetings

  • Have at least one year of experience leading groups

  • Have an education we deem relevant, such as a social worker or behavioral science

  • You are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written

We consider it an advantage if you:

  • Have previously worked with the target group aged 18-25

  • Have experience with supportive conversations

Application

Welcome with your application by January 7, 2026. Applications are made through our recruitment system where we ask you to attach your CV and cover letter (attach the cover letter under "Other documents"). In the cover letter, we would like you to answer and reflect on the questions below, these are a basis for our selection process.

  • Briefly describe your upbringing and how you have processed your experiences?

  • How do you think your work experience and education can contribute to this role?

  • What do you see as the biggest challenge for you in this role?

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. If you are offered the position, you will also need to participate in a training day on March 7 at the office in Stockholm. Upon hiring, you will need to provide an extract from the police criminal record (work with children in activities other than school).
