The Culture and Leisure Administration makes Botkyrka healthier, stronger, and more creative! We ensure that there is a rich cultural and sports life with many different leisure activities to choose from in the municipality. We contribute to vibrant and safe living environments and enable Botkyrka residents to develop their interests. With meaningful leisure, people feel better, which strengthens public health. With over 200 employees, we are responsible for libraries, swimming pools, cultural schools, art halls, open leisure activities, sports facilities, and public health parks.

The operational area is one of three operational areas in the Culture and Leisure Administration. The operation is responsible for issues concerning open leisure activities for grades 4 - 9. The open leisure activities are free, open meeting places aimed at creating meaningful leisure for children and youth. In Botkyrka, there are eleven leisure clubs for children in grades 4 - 6 and eight youth centers for grades 7 - 9. Four of the leisure clubs are run by the municipality, and the others are run by four different providers from Botkyrka's civil society.

The Position and Responsibilities

We are looking for a team leader for Alby leisure club and center.

Here you will play a key role in leading and developing leisure activities for children and youth in grades 4–9.

As a team leader, you are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and meaningful meeting place where children and youth have the opportunity to influence their leisure time and develop based on their interests and needs. You will lead the leisure leaders in their daily work, plan, coordinate, and follow up on the activities, and ensure that the work is conducted according to the administration's goals and guidelines.

The role involves both operational presence in meetings with children and youth and strategic work with planning, quality, and development. The work is varied and combines leadership with daily work close to children and youth. Part of the working hours is scheduled for evenings and weekends.

Your main responsibilities:

  • plan schedules, distribute tasks, and conduct check-ins and meetings with the workgroup
  • lead and coordinate daily work
  • conduct development work and activity planning in line with the goals of the operation
  • inspire children and youth to participate in leisure activities
  • collaborate with schools, guardians, associations, and other stakeholders
  • contribute to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment for children and youth
  • develop and follow up on the operation together with the workgroup

There is ongoing development work within the open leisure activities in Alby, in collaboration with Kvarnhag and Grindtorp schools, aimed at giving more children and youth the opportunity to participate and creating a safe and vibrant meeting place right after school. As a team leader, you will be an important part of building a new form of open leisure activities with after-school activities.

You Who Are Applying to Us

You have a degree at the vocational college or university level in pedagogy, social pedagogy, or another educational direction that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have several years of experience working with children and youth aged 10–16 in open leisure activities or another educational environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in leadership or coordination within leisure activities or another educational environment, including leading and following up on operations.
  • Experience in planning schedules, distributing tasks, and holding staff meetings.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching employees.
  • Experience in collaboration with schools, associations, and other local stakeholders.

Meritorious:

  • Completed social work degree from a university or college.
  • Several years of leadership experience within leisure activities or an educational environment.
  • Experience in driving and implementing development work or change processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of methods to strengthen children's and youth's participation and influence.
  • Experience in strategic collaboration with schools, associations, or civil society.
  • Experience in leading staff in socially and culturally diverse environments.

As a team leader, you are secure and stable in your leadership and create structure in daily work. You plan, organize, and follow up on operations in a way that provides both employees and children and youth with the conditions to develop. With clarity and calm, you contribute to a work environment where the team feels trust and shared responsibility for the operational goals. You work result-oriented and translate goals into concrete actions. At the same time, you are collaborative and see the strength in achieving results together with others. Through your attentiveness and willingness to create participation, you motivate employees and drive the development of leisure activities forward with quality, engagement, and focus on the needs of children and youth.
