Case Manager for Ung kraft Järva

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

We are making a significant investment in preventive social work in Järva - do you want to be part of our team?

Welcome to us

Many young adults (18-29 years) in Järva lack employment, despite the support measures available within the social services and the city as a whole for this target group.

Since 2024, our project Ung kraft Järva, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), has been focused on this issue and we are now expanding our team with another Case Manager!

We are looking for

We are looking for you who want to work as a case manager (CM) with us and contribute to outreach and individual-focused work aimed at this target group that needs extra support to approach work or studies. Together we will fill the gaps we currently see and guide residents to the right interventions and activities.

We offer

With us, you will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of preventive social work. The department for promoting and preventive social interventions offers services to Järva's residents in the areas of first-line social services, leisure, and citizen services, work, and studies.

We apply flexible working hours and as an employee, you are offered an annual wellness allowance that you can use for activities related to movement, exercise, and other wellness. The city also has a number of discounts that you can choose to use, read more about our benefits here.

Your role

The target group for the project consists of young adults aged 18-29 who lack employment and need extra support. Research shows that lack of employment/living in economic vulnerability poses risks for long-term health issues, social exclusion, and diminished opportunities for an independent life. Particularly marginalized groups are young women with children, foreign-born women/women with non-European backgrounds, individuals with experience of social care, and individuals with mental health issues/reduced functional capacity. In the coming year, the project will focus particularly on women within the target group.

Working as a case manager (CM) with us involves three parts:

  • Strategic outreach work.
  • Group-oriented work.
  • Individual-oriented work.

As a case manager, you have a coordinating function and work with the individual's entire life situation, focusing on removing barriers to employment. The tasks involve a lot of collaboration with, for example, the city's labor market administration, regional health and care services, and civil society.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in social work or another academic qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Several years of work experience in social work.
  • Experience working within social services/individual and family care.

We consider it advantageous if you have:

  • Experience working as a case manager.
  • Experience working in project form.
  • Language skills (Arabic, Somali, Turkish, and Tigrinya are significant languages in our catchment area).

In the role of case manager, knowledge, creativity, and flexibility are required. The nature of the assignment means that we place great emphasis on personal suitability in general and the ability to collaborate in particular. If you have a flexible approach, a good ability to take significant personal responsibility, and enjoy having tasks that are under development while maintaining focus on the main assignment, you will fit in here. Your ability to collaborate and inform about the operations will also be of great benefit. Building contacts and maintaining relationships comes naturally to you. You have a good understanding of people's different circumstances and are flexible and innovative in working with participants to achieve set goals.

We place great importance on personal abilities and skills.

Your application

We recruit without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and concisely to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.

The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competencies and thus counteracting discrimination.
