The Assignment
SUS aims to become a stronger player in advocacy work as student influence, participation, and community during their time at university create a world-class study experience. The mission of the Student Union at Stockholm University (SUS) is to promote the conditions for this at Stockholm University. To enable this, everyone working at SUS has a process-oriented approach to students, members, and engaged individuals as well as to each other. In every assignment, there is a strive to proactively and collaboratively identify needs and issues that are important for the students. The role of project leader is a fixed-term position during the spring to lead the work on transitioning to a new model for student influence.
The project leader's role includes leading the transition from the old to the new model in SUS's work with student influence. This involves developing a project plan, executing the transition together with students and the SUS office, and evaluating the transition. The goal is to have a model ready to function fully by the autumn semester of 2026 by summer.
The role also includes working with SUS's student associations and the transition from how SUS has previously worked with these to how they will be integrated into the new model.
Examples of tasks:
Main tasks:
- Developing a project plan and ensuring that a communication plan is created for the transition.
- Producing a project report after the project is completed.
- Conducting activities aimed at involving students and doctoral candidates in the transition process.
- Leading a working group at the SUS office to capture different perspectives and starting points in the project.
- Leading a reference group of students and doctoral candidates to capture different perspectives and starting points in the project.
- Preparing materials for new governing documents such as guidelines and routines for how student influence works at SUS.
- Evaluating the project with the support of SUS's evaluation routine.
- Supporting SUS in systematically strengthening its efficiency and productivity through the development and implementation of prioritized processes and change strategies regarding areas such as communication, collaboration, leadership, meeting places, and culture.
About you:
We are looking for someone with a university degree and an interest in development work. Personal experience of student influence and/or involvement in student organizations during your studies is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have previously been engaged or worked within non-profit organizations and have experience with engagement and volunteer forces.
As a person, you are a socially interested, creative team player with a good ability to work in a structured and independent manner. You are solution-focused, proactive, enjoy collaborating with others, and are willing to try new approaches.

The position is a fixed-term contract starting as soon as possible and initially lasting until June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension. You will work at the SUS office located in bright premises directly adjacent to Stockholm University. In addition to wonderful colleagues to work with, we offer wellness benefits and regular working hours of 36.25 hours per week. We hope you can start as soon as possible. The position is covered by the applicable collective agreement.
