Employment Coordinator at Botkyrka Municipality

Do you want meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives? Welcome to the municipality that is far from average!

Botkyrka Municipality is the sixth largest municipality in Stockholm County and consists of the districts Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tullinge, Tumba, Vårsta, and Grödinge. Botkyrka Municipality has approximately 95,000 inhabitants and over 6,400 employees.

The Employment and Adult Education Administration is responsible for the municipality's labor market measures, daily activities, adult education, and issues related to higher education, such as vocational training and other post-secondary education. Our goal is to provide the residents of Botkyrka with good conditions to enter studies, work, and employment. We are 330 employees working to enable more citizens to achieve self-sufficiency.

The Position and Responsibilities

We are looking for two Employment Coordinators for the new meeting place within Employment SoL at the Employment Unit.

The operation targets adults with mental disabilities or co-occurring disorders and is part of the municipality's transition according to the new Social Services Act, where assessed employment occurs in collaboration with social services and is complemented by open interventions without assistance decisions.

As an Employment Coordinator, you will work in the new open meeting place. The role means that you, together with colleagues, will be involved in developing content, activities, and working methods, while also contributing to continuity and quality in the work with our visitors and participants.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • planning and conducting meaningful activities
  • creating security and building relationships with visitors and participants
  • providing individual support based on the individual's needs and conditions
  • being a contact person and, if necessary, establishing and following up on implementation plans
  • collaborating with internal and external actors.

The work is team-based together with other Employment Coordinators and operational leaders. We work without prestige and support each other within the team; if necessary, you will also cover different parts of the unit to ensure good quality in our entire operation. You have many points of contact and need to be able to switch between development work and structured individual work within the framework of the assignment.

We Offer You

At Employment SoL, you will be part of a workgroup with seven Employment Coordinators and an operational leader. The work is characterized by close collegial cooperation where shared responsibility, support, and knowledge exchange are a natural part of everyday life. The combination of assessed employment and an open meeting place provides variation in the assignment and the opportunity to meet visitors and participants in different contexts.

The working hours are initially scheduled during the day, but as the operation is under development, the working hours may evolve over time to meet the needs of the target group. As an Employment Coordinator, you will receive an introduction and good conditions to settle into the role. You will have the opportunity to influence and develop the content, activities, and working methods of the operation, especially in the continued development of the open meeting place. We offer a workplace where engagement, responsibility, and participation are highly valued and where development work occurs collectively.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with education as a social pedagogue, mental health worker, social worker, craft educator, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Other requirements for the position:

  • Experience working with adults with mental disabilities and complex life situations.
  • Driver's license (B).

We consider it an advantage:

  • Experience in documentation and working with implementation plans.
  • Experience working in digital operational systems, such as LifeCare.
  • Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Skills to plan and conduct meaningful activities, for example in creative creation, crafts, or recovery in natural environments.

As an Employment Coordinator, you are collaborative and work closely with colleagues in a team-based approach. The role involves joint planning, implementation, and follow-up of activities, as well as shared responsibility for visitors and participants. You are relationship-building and create trustworthy relationships in meetings with visitors and participants, which is a prerequisite for creating security and participation. Through a professional and responsive approach, you contribute to the operation being perceived as accessible and cohesive.

You are structured and have the ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a way that creates clarity and continuity in daily work. At the same time, you are solution-oriented and can handle changing conditions by adjusting working methods and finding effective solutions in the operation. In the role, you contribute stability and decisiveness, which is crucial for activities and individual-focused interventions to be implemented and developed over time in our joint development phase.
