Social Worker for the Child, Youth and Family Investigation Unit

Lidingö City is investing in social services for children and youth. We are undertaking a development project to create even better conditions for a modern, preventive, and accessible social service. As part of this, we have gathered all authority functions and open care concerning children and youth (0-20 years) in a dedicated area.

The Child, Youth, and Family area consists of three units:

• Reception and Family Support Unit
• Child, Youth, and Family Investigation Unit
• Foster Care and Intervention Unit

We are now looking for a social worker for the Child, Youth, and Family Investigation Unit, following a colleague who is leaving us for new challenges after a long time with us.

The Child, Youth, and Family area belongs to the Care and Social Administration, which is one of our six administrations in Lidingö City. About 800 employees work with us to support our residents in all stages of life. We work with individual and family care, social psychiatry, disability services, and elderly care. We always put the individual's needs at the center.

We offer close leadership and clear management with accessible managers and team leaders. Additionally, the area has access to its own area lawyer who provides support in legal matters and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities will be to investigate the needs of children and youth for protection, support, and care. You will collaborate closely with the Reception and Family Support Unit and the Foster Care and Intervention Unit. The work requires collaboration internally with other units and administrations as well as externally to provide coordinated support to the residents of Lidingö.

In the unit, we work inspired by Signs of Safety, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a cornerstone of our approach. If necessary, we therefore offer basic training in these methods and approaches for new employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a social worker with previous experience in authority functions within the area of children and youth. You have an easy time expressing yourself verbally and in writing. Experience with Signs of Safety is an advantage.

As a person, you find social work important and enjoyable. You take initiative, drive your work forward, and have a genuine commitment to creating change. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented and confident in your role.

The city applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
