Treatment Secretary at SiS Youth Home Tysslinge

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Tysslinge, located outside Södertälje, receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to help create the vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment secretary at SiS is a meaningful challenge.

SiS Youth Home Tysslinge is an institution at the highest security level that receives youth with high risks of threats, violence, and absconding. The institution is in a development and expansion phase as we will soon reopen one of our departments. After the reopening, we will have a total of seven departments at the institution, which accommodate youth placed under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), youth sentenced under the Act on Secure Youth Care (LSU), and a department consisting of places for youth receiving individual care (VIE). Due to this expansion phase, we are therefore looking for one additional treatment secretary for a permanent position.

As a treatment secretary, you will be responsible for leading the department's care and treatment work by:

  • Ensuring that treatment or enforcement planning, discharge plan, and final notes are established, continuously followed up, and revised.
  • Involving and engaging the youth in every step of the treatment or enforcement process.
  • Anchoring treatment or enforcement planning with both the unit manager, group leader, treatment team, and staff in the department.
  • Being responsible for evaluating care and treatment efforts together with the youth.
  • Planning and leading the institution's treatment collegium, as well as guiding treatment staff towards care and treatment goals in daily work.
  • Coordinating, planning, and leading both internal and external coordination meetings, as well as collaborating with the individual's private and professional network.
  • Conducting risk and needs assessments in accordance with structured assessment instruments.

You will belong to a triad in your department, consisting of a unit manager, a group leader, and you as a treatment secretary, but you report directly to the Quality Manager as your nearest supervisor. Within the framework of the position, other tasks may also be included, such as conducting treatment programs and educating/mentoring colleagues in various methods used in the operation.

Since SiS Youth Home Tysslinge has the highest security level within SiS, this means that you need to work with a high level of risk awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training to prepare you for your new role in SiS operations.
