The Unit for Promotion and Preventive Efforts is part of the Department of Social Services and Leisure, which consists of: Leisure activities, field operations, school social teams, citizen offices with community guidance, and contracted youth clinics.
The unit is led by a unit manager and currently consists of 23 employees (2 team leaders, 1 administrative assistant, 1 method developer, 9 leisure leaders, 4 field assistants, 4 community guides, and 2 school social workers).
The field operation currently consists of 4 field assistants led by the unit manager and team leader. We are now looking for an engaged and experienced field assistant to join the field team as one of our colleagues has chosen to move on to another position.

We are located in pleasant premises in Bromma Blocks, in the Youth House at Islandstorget, and in Blackeberg, close to public transport. Within the unit, we work intensively with development and innovation and have a strong citizen focus. Collaboration is a key principle within the unit.
Your role
As a field assistant, you work preventively, outreach, and relationship-building with young people in their own arenas and in other public spaces. We work with the foundations of prevention science and with risk and protective factors. We create relationships with young people based on voluntariness, trust, and respect. As a field assistant, you also work to create safety and aim to strengthen young people's belief in the future, empowerment, and support positive change. You collaborate closely with, among others, youth centers, social services, police, schools, other authorities, and guardians. The work is based on a systemic approach, where network thinking and networking are of central importance.
In schools, we work preventively with the school programs we offer. We also work evenings with structured programs such as ABC-teen and Komet-teen. Our work is flexible and follows the changes that occur in young people's lives, which is why it is important to be oriented in environmental monitoring and to enjoy dynamic work. The work is conducted in line with the City of Stockholm's standards for social fieldwork.
You meet young people in their everyday lives, at schools, youth centers, streets, and squares, as well as in risk environments, and you create preventive activities, map networks, and identify risk behaviors. You support and guide further. The role involves broad collaboration with colleagues within social services, schools, youth centers, citizens, police, and associations in the area.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in the field of social services and field operations. To succeed in this role, you have the ability to make quick and clear decisions, both independently and in collaboration with others. You easily create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in various contexts and functions. You adapt easily to different situations. You are good at creating an open dialogue and adjusting your actions based on the situation. You understand what it means to work in a politically governed organization and can easily adapt to new directives.
Meritorious; Education and experience in ABC-teen, KOMET-teen.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, varied, and scheduled both day/evening/weekend based on a flexible approach. A B driver's license is a requirement.
