Description of the Operations

The Community Building Sector is responsible for building and environmental offices, planning work, traffic coordination, streets, public outdoor environments, the water and sewage department, waste department, meal service, cleaning services, and property management.

We are facing an exciting community transformation where a new travel center will become a central hub for sustainable travel. A directional proposal, planning program, and implementation program have already been politically adopted – now we are taking the next step with a feasibility study on safe routes to the travel center. The safety of unprotected road users is of utmost priority. To meet this need, a reconstruction of parts of the street structure in the community is planned, with the expansion of the walking and cycling network to the travel center area. We want to create an inclusive public environment with a special focus on children and youth, women, the elderly, and people with mobility and cognitive difficulties, who have specific needs for clear, well-lit, and easily accessible walking and cycling paths.

Your Assignment

As an urban planner, you will be the project manager for the feasibility study, focusing on developing walking and cycling paths and improving the street structure for increased safety and accessibility. The feasibility study is an important foundation for upcoming implementation projects, which means that the position may transition to a permanent employment.

The feasibility study should result in documentation that:

• Maps existing conditions
• Describes how new routes and places can be designed and implemented
• Analyzes the needs for safety and accessibility for different groups
• An investment plan for upcoming measures
• Describes adaptations of existing places for safe and sustainable community development with a focus on infrastructure

Your Competence and Experience

Requirements

• Academic degree with a focus on community building or other equivalent education
• Several years of experience in project management
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing
• Good computer skills
• Driving license B

Meritorious

• Experience in comprehensive planning or project management within the community building sector
• Experience from a politically governed organization
• Experience in public procurement
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, or GIS programs

The Employment

Salary Range
