Storumans municipality is a large municipality in Southern Lapland. Approximately 6,000 people live here, with just over half of them in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and Tärnaby/Hemavan. For those who enjoy living actively and close to nature, there is a fantastic range of activities, both summer and winter. Imagine gliding through a well-prepared ski track in the magical winter light, a mirror-like mountain lake on a summer evening when the sun never wants to set, a bog in a clearing in the forest shining like gold from all the ripe cloudberries, or a freshly brewed cup of coffee in a sunny spot in April. All this and more are experiences available in our local environment. Our municipality is not just a place to live, but a place where you can lead a wonderful life. Storumans municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we value knowledge of the Sámi language and culture.
