Business Developer at the Culture and Leisure Office
With us, you will become a key person in the work of simplifying everyday life for associations. By developing digital support and managing grants, you contribute to a vibrant association life and smoother administration. We are now looking for a business developer who makes technology a driving force for development – not an obstacle in the way.
YOUR ROLE
As a business developer, you will be the hub between operations, IT, and suppliers. You ensure that our digital systems not only function but also evolve in line with both technological possibilities and operational needs. Here at culture and leisure, this means you will have a central role in managing and developing systems that support the association life, including grant management and association support. The work is done in the IBGO system, which is one of our most important tools.
An important part of the assignment is to administer grants and manage payments to the association life, as well as to support associations by creating routines, manuals, and simplifications that make their administration smoother. You will also work on reviewing our internal processes and ensuring that we use existing systems in the best way. The role also involves exploring how new technology – such as AI – can support our internal work and facilitate for associations.
Your everyday life will be both varied and meaningful. You will help create the conditions for a vibrant association life through close dialogue with associations regarding grants and collaboration. At the same time, you contribute to developing our services and working methods so that they become simpler and more accessible to everyone. Here you get the chance to combine strategic thinking with practical solutions – and make a real difference for people in our municipality.
Change management is an important part of the assignment. When we introduce new systems or working methods, you will lead the way, create understanding, and help others feel secure in the change. By educating, supporting, and creating clear documentation, you make it easier for your colleagues and associations to keep up. In short: you make technology a driving force for development – not an obstacle in the way.
In addition to the workgroup, there are also other business developers and development leaders as support, which gives you good conditions to succeed in the role.
YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone who can combine technical understanding with an interest in people and operations. An understanding and knowledge of the association life is important as you will work with grant management and have close contact with associations. Perhaps you have a degree in computer science, or you have built up equivalent knowledge through experience. Most importantly, you can translate your competence into practical solutions that make a difference for users.
To succeed in the role, you need to have experience in project work, preferably within IT or system-related projects. You have the ability to lead others by planning, driving, and following up work in a structured manner while creating engagement among those involved. If you have also worked with change management, we see it as a great asset; you know how to build understanding, create participation, and encourage people to take the step into something new.
We would also like you to have experience in participating in procurement and requirements specification. Since we work with sensitive information, it is beneficial that you have insights into information security and regulations such as GDPR, and can use them as support in everyday work.
We believe you are a person who enjoys sharing knowledge and building understanding. When something goes wrong, you are the one who stays calm, finds the solution, and ensures that others learn along the way. And when new systems are to be implemented, it is your communication skills that make even the most hesitant users dare to try something new.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
The Culture and Leisure Office works to ensure that facilities, outdoor life, youth centers, association support, campsites, and our cultural and library activities function as well as possible for everyone living and working in Skellefteå. You will be part of the culture and leisure administration, where we work to create a rich and inclusive association life and cultural offerings. The workplace is located in the City Hall, where we work in activity-based modern premises. Here you will find both flexibility and community.
GOOD TO KNOW
We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV.
