The North Police Region is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which together are divided into 12 local police areas. Furthermore, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.

We are now looking for a person for a summer temporary position in Lycksele during the period from June to August, starting by agreement. There may also be a possibility of extending hours before/after the summer temporary period.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The reception is the face of the Police Authority and often the first contact for the public - an important point of contact. The position includes both an authority function and a service function for both external and internal service. Serving as an administrator in the reception is a significant job in strengthening trust in police operations by having commitment, quality, and security in handling cases combined with efficiency and a pleasant demeanor.

As a summer temporary employee in the reception, you will have an important role within the framework of the police's service mission. Main tasks:

  • Process passport and ID card applications

Other tasks may include:

  • Receive and register reports from the public
  • Handle lost property
  • Release seized items
  • Additional tasks may arise as the influx of cases can vary greatly

A prerequisite for starting work as an administrator in the reception is that you are approved and certified in the mandatory internal training in passport handling that begins in the first two weeks. One of the weeks of training may possibly take place in another location. Working hours are primarily scheduled during daytime Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Completed upper secondary education or equivalent knowledge acquired through studies
  • Good computer skills and ease in learning new IT systems
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good ability to express yourself in English, both orally and in writing
  • Category B driver's license

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Current experience working in a reception or similar that the employer assesses as relevant
  • Current work experience in service that has included personal contacts that the employer considers relevant for the position
  • Current work experience in administrative tasks that the employer assesses as relevant
  • Knowledge/skill regarding police data systems such as RES, lost property, and Durtvå

As an administrator in the reception, you are the face of the police and are expected to work with commitment, availability, and efficiency. As the pace of work fluctuates, we believe you are a person who thrives and is driven by this, while it does not affect your accuracy or customer interaction. We further believe that you have a service-oriented and flexible approach as well as good collaboration skills. Since the work is outward-facing and involves daily contact with people, we place great importance on your communicative ability. We also see that you are responsible and self-driven.
