GIS Engineer to the Environmental and Community Development Administration

The Environmental and Community Development Administration works to develop a sustainable and growing Karlskrona with new housing and business establishments, and well-functioning operations from an environmental and health perspective. The administration consists of a head of administration, staff, environmental department, planning department, and building permit department.

Currently, a GIS engineer works in the planning department together with a planning manager and planning architects. The planning department focuses on the municipality's investment in a more efficient community development process and the digitization of the administration's operations, such as digital detailed and comprehensive plans, digital maps, 3D models, visualizations, and digital services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a GIS engineer, you will work both independently and collaboratively to develop GIS, digital maps, and visualizations while participating in current planning/building projects and in the development and management of digital services. Providing service and advice internally and externally, as well as collaborating with other authorities, are important parts of the job. You are expected to want to develop both yourself and be a part of developing the operations and the community development process.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in geographic information systems, geomatics, surveying, land management, urban planning, or other equivalent education. Previous experience working with geographic information systems is an advantage.

It is important that you have:

• Strong commitment and ability to drive and participate in projects and assignments.
• Interest in developing the digital community development process using GIS and physical planning.
• Good knowledge and experience of ESRI's ArcGIS Enterprise platform and Geosecma for ArcGIS.
• Good knowledge and experience in handling and structuring geographic data in databases, such as SQL server.
• Good IT skills.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
• Driving license B.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• 3D tools, such as SketchUp, ArcGIS Urban, City Engine, BIM tools, or similar
• AR, VR
• FME
• Adobe Creative Cloud
