Residential Support Worker at the Social Administration in Linköping
The position is located within the Social Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Administration is responsible for authority exercise, ordering services, and self-management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS, and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to. Do you want to brighten everyday life and improve the quality of life for the people of Linköping? With us, you can make an important difference and help make Linköping a better place. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
As a residential support worker, you will work closely with individuals living either in a support housing related to substance abuse issues or in a housing with special services within psychiatry. Your task is to support the individual in their daily life by helping with structure, routines, and care, while also contributing to the person having the conditions to manage as much as possible on their own. The work is always based on the individual's needs and is documented through implementation plans that you follow up and work actively with.
An important part of the role is to meet individuals in a low-arousal manner and to work from a pedagogical approach. You may sometimes need to accompany individuals to activities or errands and have contact with other actors around the individual. Documentation is an ongoing part of the workday.
Your Workplace
Torparegatan is a 24-hour operation that encompasses two operational parts: a support housing focused on dependency issues and a housing with special services focused on psychiatry or neuropsychiatric functional variations. A total of 26 clients live here.
We are a large team with twelve employees working days, evenings, and weekends, and two employees working awake nights. The total team consists of 14 employees and a group leader. The group leader has responsibilities in several other operations as well.
At Torparegatan, we are careful to help each other and create a safe environment for both clients and colleagues. The operation is in a phase where much is developing and changing, and you will become part of a work that is moving forward.
The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or caregiver, or who has another education that the employer deems equivalent. To function in the role, you need to have experience working within social psychiatry. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with individuals who have substance abuse issues or if you have experience in psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, or care.
You need to feel comfortable working from a low-arousal approach and be able to adapt to the individual's needs and situation. It is positive if you have worked with methods such as motivational interviewing, IBIC (Individual's Needs in Focus), or pedagogical approaches, although this is not a requirement.
In the role, you need to have a B driver's license with a manual transmission and be able to communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You also need to be comfortable with digital systems as documentation is an important part of the work.
To thrive with us, you need to be able to collaborate with others in a responsive and smooth manner while maintaining focus and calm in situations that can sometimes be stressful. You need to have the ability to make wise judgments when faced with different situations and be able to take responsibility for your tasks without losing sight of the bigger picture. We value that you are attentive in your interactions with both clients and colleagues and that you can give and receive feedback in a constructive manner.
