About the assignment
We at Novare are a proud and approved supplier of the state framework agreement in Sweden. We are now looking for a controller for an authority in Gothenburg.
As a controller at the authority, you will become part of their central finance department and the operational controlling unit. The position is divided into two parts, where the main part consists of advisory work within EU projects. The other part involves work with budget, forecasts, and year-end closing.
For this role, we are looking for someone who is analytical, meticulous, and unpretentious. You have an easy time making connections and possess a good sense of service. Furthermore, we see that you work flexibly and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Examples of overall tasks

• advisory and support in financial matters within the EU area
• good accounting according to internal and external regulations, including EU's financial requirements
• coordinate the organization's budget and year-end closing work as well as other central financial processes within the area
• interpret and analyze conditions from financiers and other contractual parties to ensure correct handling and compliance.
• contribute to the development of the authority's financial processes by identifying areas for improvement and working towards more efficient routines and workflows.

Requirements for the position

• university degree in finance or equivalent education
• at least five (5) years of work experience in qualified financial work (accounting, budgeting, year-end closing)
• experience in project accounting of EU-funded projects
• knowledge of EU regulations
• experience working with financial and administrative support systems
• can communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Desirable qualifications for the position

• experience in qualified financial work within higher education/university
• experience with the Raindance and Hypergene systems.

Assignment period and scope
The assignment is full-time with a planned start on February 1 and runs until 2027-03-31 with the possibility of extension until 2027-07-17. The placement is at the authority in Gothenburg, with the possibility of some remote work.
