JOB DESCRIPTION

Peder Skrivare School is looking for an engaged vocational teacher for the Industrial Technology program! We train the workforce of the future in a broad industry, and we are looking for a new colleague for the spring who can contribute to providing students with a quality education in our various specializations. The Industrial Technology program provides students with education in product manufacturing, maintenance, operational reliability, and welding. They learn about equipment, material processing, and handling industrial technology processes.

The Industrial Technology program at PS is Technical College certified, and we have a good collaboration with our industry companies. Since part of the students' education takes place at companies in the form of workplace-based learning (APL), we would like you to have current and good relationships with companies in our local area.

In the role of vocational teacher, you will teach both practically and theoretically. The job responsibilities include teaching vocational technical subjects, such as welding technology, industrial production, and operational reliability. You plan your teaching independently and collaborate with other teachers in the program.

You clarify the goals of the teaching and communicate them in an understandable way for the students while assessing their achievement of goals and assigning grades according to the curriculum. As a mentor, you have an important role in supporting students by having a good understanding of their needs, following their studies, and actively working to help them achieve their high school diploma. You build strong relationships with the students and maintain regular contact with guardians to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Through collaboration with school management and colleagues, you contribute to creating a positive school environment where students thrive, develop, and achieve their goals. To thrive in the role, it is important that you actively participate in the subject team's work and appreciate collaborating with colleagues, students, and other staff at the high school. Together, you work to create the best conditions for each student's success.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is skilled in the workshop technical field with experience from the manufacturing industry. You need to have basic knowledge of workshop technology and be experienced in operational reliability and maintenance work. Good knowledge of machining and welding is an advantage.

If you have a teaching license, subject competence, and experience working with young people, this is an advantage but not a requirement. The most important thing for us is that you have the right professional competence and the personal qualities required to succeed in the role of teacher. You have a high ability to collaborate, easily working with teaching colleagues, student health, and other staff groups. You have an exceptionally good communicative ability and maintain a positive attitude and contribute to solutions.

To succeed in the position, you need to be able to plan and structure your work effectively. You have good pedagogical skills, which are evident in your ability to adapt teaching to the student group. You create an enthusiastic and collaborative climate in the classroom and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement.

You naturally use digital tools in your teaching and planning and see them as an integral part of your pedagogical work. You are motivated by supporting others' learning and create good conditions for knowledge to develop. With your pedagogical skill, you explain content and context clearly, adapted to different individuals and perspectives. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating to achieve common goals. Your engagement and ability to create good relationships contribute to a positive and respectful work environment. You inspire and capture interest in the subject through clear and engaging communication.
