JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The after-school program at Hjortsberg School consists of four departments. Three of the departments are age-homogeneous, and in the fourth, students from grade 3 and above attend. We have approximately 260 students enrolled in the after-school program. The proximity to forests, the sea, and the city provides us with excellent conditions for a good and developing activity for students and educators.

As a teacher in the after-school program, we are looking for someone with pedagogical insight, clear leadership, and a relational approach. As a person, you have a positive and flexible attitude, a strong interest in children's development, and a well-developed sense of responsibility. You are engaged, attentive, and collaborative. Your role, together with your colleagues, is to ensure that teaching follows our governing documents and maintains high quality. You have the ability to plan and implement activities with a clear connection to the curriculum and adapt the learning environment so that all students can participate and develop to their full potential. You are accustomed to maintaining contact with guardians and ensure that these contacts are positive.

We strive to work in an equitable manner across our departments, and therefore follow-up, evaluations, and analysis are an important part of our work in the after-school program. We aim for our after-school program, despite its size, to be just that: An after-school program where all employees' competencies are utilized in the best way.

Every week, the work team has joint planning time, and all employees also have their own planning time scheduled. Every week during school hours, the after-school program holds an information meeting, and every other week a development meeting. The after-school program also has a pedagogical working group aimed at developing the after-school program's work together with the principal.

In our after-school program, we work with action research as a method to continuously develop the operation. Through a systematic and research-oriented approach, we start from the students' needs, analyze our practice, and test new working methods to improve quality. This means that each work team is involved in a learning process where we together create a creative, equitable, and sustainable operation.
