Lead Teacher in MA/NO for grades 4–6 at Vallåsskolan

Vallåsskolan is a multicultural school with approximately 730 students in the F-9 range.

We are looking for a particularly skilled teacher in the subjects of MA/NO for grades 4–6 at Vallåsskolan who is interested in continuing to develop in their professional role through a lead teacher assignment.

Your Responsibilities

In order to develop teaching and with the goal of increasing goal fulfillment, you as a lead teacher will work with teaching and tasks related to teaching. In addition to teaching, you are expected in your role as a lead teacher to:

• Support other teachers in the development and improvement of teaching by leading professional learning at the school in connection with the school's systematic quality work together with the principal. This involves developing teaching methods that should yield better student results. Guidance and coaching of other teachers are included to bring out the best in each educator and student.
• Stay informed about current research and actively work to connect it to the school's activities and work in the classrooms.
• Contribute to school development and have a leading role in driving school development forward, as well as contribute to the development of teaching at the school level.
• Work closely with the school's mathematics developer to jointly develop teaching for grades 4–6.

Examples of tasks that may be included in the lead teacher's assignment are classroom observations, reflection, feedback, group discussions, discussions with individual colleagues, process leadership of school development, identification of various learning needs, development and testing of new methods/working methods to meet students' different needs, etc.

In addition, the school's principal formulates the lead teacher's assignment based on the needs that exist at the unit. The work may involve teaching and learning that the school management prioritizes based on the school's systematic quality work.

Your Qualifications

Licensed teacher with qualifications in mathematics and natural sciences for grades 4–6.

You must document at least four years of well-regarded work with teaching within the framework of one or more employments in the school system. The documentation must show that you in your teaching assignment have demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and shown a strong interest in developing teaching.

You must have solid knowledge in the subject/subject area you teach. You have solid didactic knowledge and can adapt teaching according to the students by being able to see and meet each individual student. You should also be able to identify various learning needs and be innovative in trying different methods and working methods to meet students' varying needs. You can evaluate your own teaching and the effects of teaching on learning and communicate and collaborate with both students, parents, and colleagues.

You have an active interest in following and absorbing current research and participating in and taking responsibility for various forms of school development work. You have the ability to drive school development forward in a leading role by supporting colleagues in their teaching, spreading good examples, and contributing to the professional development of the school's teachers.
