The Culture and Leisure Administration manages the municipality's cultural and leisure facilities such as libraries, youth centers, cultural schools, theaters, art halls, and sports facilities. We also provide services and grants to associations within the municipality.

Varberg Art Hall is a venue for contemporary art, both national and international. The exhibition program explores the various expressions of contemporary art in a wide range of themes. The art pedagogical activities are in direct dialogue with the exhibitions and provide visitors of all ages the opportunity for their own creativity and to interpret different artistic expressions. As an art educator, you will often work in the Art Workshop, a colorful studio directly adjacent to the Art Hall. You will also be involved in the production of exhibitions and have the opportunity to collaborate in the Culture Unit's work with public art. Varberg Art Hall is located in bright premises at the top of the Komedianten Cultural Center, just a stone's throw from the train station, the square, restaurants, and shops. You will have a creative workplace surrounded by art and culture in all its forms.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as an art educator includes, among other things:

• Planning and conducting tours and creative workshops for different target groups and experience levels; primarily children and youth but also other groups.
• Developing and adapting teaching materials to promote creativity and learning.
• Working together with the curator in exhibition work.
• Supervising art hosts, including scheduling and introductions.
• Information and marketing work, including via social media.
• Reporting statistics and key figures.
• Being a resource for the unit's operations otherwise.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education in art, art pedagogy, or a related field.
• Experience in teaching or mentoring in art and creativity.
• Good material knowledge and practical skills in various artistic techniques.
• Good communication skills and the ability to inspire and engage participants.
• Very good ability in text production related to art exhibitions.
• Experience working with social media.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt teaching to different target groups.
