Are you a student in healthcare administration or a medical student? Would you like to gain practical experience in your future profession this summer? We are now looking for an engaged summer substitute who wants to be part of our team at the Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic, Värnamo Hospital.

The Role of Healthcare Administrator/Medical Secretary

As a healthcare administrator/medical secretary, your tasks will largely consist of documentation in the Cosmic journal system. Other administrative tasks include handling mail and referrals, patient service via phone and 1177, journal printouts, and much more.

We know that it is not always easy to be new on the job, and therefore we do our utmost to ensure you feel secure, excited, and prepared for your summer job with us. Before you start working in the department, you will receive a thorough introduction based on your needs and experiences.

The summer job is a temporary full-time position. We have flexible hours and work daytime on weekdays. We need a substitute healthcare administrator/medical secretary during weeks 24-32. It is an advantage if you can work many or all of the weeks. We appreciate if you have the opportunity to shadow during the spring.

Your Future Workplace

The Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic is the largest clinic at Värnamo Hospital with many services under one roof. We have three inpatient care units with different focuses on medical specialties. The clinic also has outpatient care, including medical day care and the dialysis unit. Our outpatient services encompass all medical specialties.

Our facilities are well-planned and modern, and we work with the patient in focus. Here, you will work alongside both experienced colleagues and new employees, all with great commitment.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is trained as a healthcare administrator or medical secretary. Another option is that you are studying to become a healthcare administrator, which means you can work as a medical secretary after one year of studies. If you are studying to become a doctor, you can work with us from term 6.

You need to have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, and a desire to contribute to the best possible care for patients. Experience with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage.

As a person, you are calm, stable, and adaptable to the various circumstances that often prevail in a hospital. Since you will be working in a service-oriented profession, we would like you to be cooperative and responsive. We place great importance on personal suitability.
