We are looking for a family home secretary for the Family Home Center, an important part of Borås City's initiative for children placed in family homes. We are wholeheartedly working to provide safety and stability for our children and families. As a family home secretary, you can make a difference and provide good conditions for children who need support and help.
You will be part of a workgroup where experience is present and new energy is welcomed. We care about mutual support and continuously develop our working methods through quality assurance, training, and development. We actively work to increase the number of our own family homes and have a clear work plan for focus and development issues. The Family Home Center consists of 8 child secretaries, 15 family home secretaries, 1 educator, 3 method supervisors, and 2 unit managers. We are a workgroup that has fun together and supports each other. Borås City is also a participant in the Career Journey, which provides you with introductory training and further education. Supervision is conducted regularly with an external supervisor. We work based on Signs of Safety.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe family home secretaries are divided into two teams. Team 1 works with recruitment, investigation, and matching. Team 2 works with advice and support. There is now an opportunity to express which team you would like to work with based on experience and interest.
As a family home secretary in team 1, you will work on recruiting new contractors, investigating families, and matching the right family to the child. You will collaborate closely with your colleagues, and during the investigations, you will work together in pairs. You will meet many new people, investigate, and make assessments regarding families' ability to be contractors. You need to be curious, good at collaborating, analytical, and skilled in communication. You need to feel confident in documentation.
As a family home secretary in team 2, you will work with advice and support for contractors in close collaboration with social workers and child secretaries. You will follow contractors over a longer period, and it is important to be good at building relationships and trust. You need to be good at supporting and motivating people in difficult situations. You need to be curious, good at collaboration, and structured. The position includes ongoing documentation and financial administration.
Before an employment offer is made, a criminal record extract from the police must be presented.

QualificationsTo become our next colleague, you need to have a degree in social work or equivalent academic education in social work. We would like you to have previous experience in social work with children and families and be skilled in documentation. Experience in family home work is an advantage. As a person, you are flexible and welcome changes with a positive attitude. You thrive in structure and have the ability to work methodically and organized while effectively prioritizing your tasks. Your collaboration in a team is both productive and contributes to a positive work environment. Quality and good results are important to you, and you are aware of the importance of careful documentation. A driver's license (B) is a requirement.
The position includes attending events at certain times, sometimes in the evening and occasionally on weekends. We have family homes throughout Sweden, which means that you need to be able to work late evenings and sometimes stay overnight with advance notice.
Since we offer our family homes and contact families support on evenings and weekends via phone, being on call during these times according to a rotating schedule is also included.
