Job Responsibilities

Do you want to make a difference at Broströmsgården's Bmss for children? Then you might be the one we are looking for.

With us, four children with multiple disabilities live. The children have extensive needs for pedagogical support and personal care. You will be part of a team with support assistants and a unit manager. Much collaboration also occurs with other professionals and relatives. In the role of support pedagogue, you support our residents in their daily lives, including providing care, managing medications as delegated, and handling social documentation. Furthermore, you are responsible for the process regarding documentation, method, and quality development within the unit. You will be part of a network with other support pedagogues and a method developer.

As a support pedagogue, you will work on a schedule that includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. You will work one weekend every four weeks. As a support pedagogue, you will allocate 50% of your working hours to pedagogical time and the remaining time to operational duties. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities is required, encompassing at least 200 vocational training points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof corresponding to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education must include relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other training that the employer deems equivalent.

It is a requirement to have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements, you may be offered to take a language test through the testing provider Educateit. You also need to have good computer skills as the position involves working in our digital systems, including Treserva.

It is a requirement that you have previous experience working as a support pedagogue, and it is advantageous if you have experience with individuals who have extensive care needs. You need to have experience working with AAC (alternative augmentative communication).
