Do you want to work towards creating a safer environment by combating violence in close relationships? Then this is the job for you!

The Relationship Violence Team started in the autumn of 2024 and consists of one senior social worker and four social workers.

We offer counseling, help, and support to individuals who have been victims of violence in close relationships, as well as to those with violence and/or aggression issues who wish to change their behavior. We provide conversation support and crisis support to individuals over 18 years old living in the South-West urban area. We are also available to colleagues in the urban area and have a mission regarding competence development and environmental monitoring.

Currently, we can offer 1-2 advisory conversations, and if the individual wishes to continue contact, we will assess and make decisions regarding the support contact with a social worker. In 2026, we will be able to offer interventions without prior needs assessment in a pilot program and also aim to develop group activities for the target groups we encounter. Our major development area is to reach perpetrators of violence more extensively than we do today. We are currently in the phase of developing our work in accordance with the new Social Services Act – an exciting task where you will have the opportunity to contribute.

The team is located at Frölunda Torg, with lunch restaurants and good public transport connections nearby.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Individual conversations with individuals affected by violence in close relationships and those with violence and/or aggression issues who wish to change their behavior.
  • Close collaboration with other authorities and actors
  • Participate in method and development work
  • Contribute to training and information initiatives about violence in close relationships

You will be offered methodological support both individually and in groups, as well as regular external process guidance, and you will be part of a workgroup characterized by competence and professionalism where we support each other.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker, social educator, or has other education that the employer deems equivalent. It is also a requirement that you have experience and good knowledge of working with violence in close relationships. It is highly meritorious if you have extensive experience in various areas of social services and authority practice. We also see it as meritorious if you have one or more of the following or similar qualifications: Conversations about freedom, Conversations about violence, MI, MPV (Meeting People with Violence Issues), and basic training in psychotherapy (step-1).
