What do we offer you?

You will teach at a special needs school in a subject or subject area.

You will also be a mentor for the students in the class. You are responsible for planning, implementation, documentation, and assessment. You will belong to a work team and have close collaboration with other teachers and assistants.

Who are you?

You are a certified teacher with the qualifications to teach in a special needs school. If you have not yet received your certification, the position can be written as a temporary employment until the certification can be presented.

You are well-versed in the governing documents of special needs schools. You have experience working with children and young people with special needs and intellectual disabilities. It is an advantage if you have a special education degree with a focus on developmental disabilities.

You are structured and have experience with clear pedagogical methods as well as IT skills since students use computers and iPads in their education.

As a person, you are committed, flexible, receptive, and have an easy time building relationships with students, parents, and staff. You are accustomed to working both independently and in teams. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

About us

The Department of Children and Education is responsible for the municipality's preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, and cultural schools. We work together for a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and can be their best. The department's mission is to coordinate, plan, and support the various activities and work for coordination between school and working life.

At T4 School (special needs school), students from grade F to grade nine are taught in both subjects and subject areas. About 30 students attend the school. Each class has a mentor who organizes the teaching. In addition to the mentor, there is also one or more student assistants in each class. T4 School also has an after-school program for the school's students who are taught in subject areas.
