Kooperativet Hand i Hand is a member-driven organization founded in 1995 for individuals entitled to assistance. Our members are located in Skåne, Halland, southern Småland, Västra Götaland, Stockholm, and Jämtland. We have offices in Halmstad, Hässleholm, and Malmö. We support our members with everything from applying for hours with Försäkringskassan/the municipality to personnel issues regarding personal assistants. We believe that the work of a personal assistant is one of the most important jobs there is, as it provides an opportunity for another person to live their life like everyone else.

I am a happy 8-year-old girl looking for a new assistant for my team.

I am in first grade and I have many interests! Among other things, I enjoy playing role-playing games, having fun, and baking. I also love to swim, so it is important for me that you can swim and feel comfortable being with me in the water.

I have epilepsy and SMA, a condition that means I have weak muscles. Therefore, I use a power wheelchair and need someone who can be my arms and legs sometimes, but otherwise, I am just like any other lively 8-year-old.

As my assistant, you need to be a positive, curious person who can match my liveliness. It is important to me that you are engaged and see the work as a long-term commitment.

During work, you will be in my constant vicinity to step in when I need help/support, but you also need to have the ability to be “invisible” when I am talking to my friends. No previous experience is required; the most important thing is that we enjoy being together and that you are attentive to me and my needs.

For us to understand each other, you need to speak fluent Swedish. Since lifting is involved, I would like you to be physically strong and I want you to be smoke-free. We help each other out when an assistant is sick so I can get to school or other activities. Therefore, it is advantageous if you are flexible and have the opportunity to work extra sometimes.

Position:
70% day shifts, evening shifts, and every other weekend.
