Job Responsibilities

Are you a curious person passionate about school development and want to support schools in their development work? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

We are now seeking a Capacity Supporter for the unit School-Near Support and Development, who will be a key person in coordinating the administration's pedagogical and didactic support to schools. In the role of capacity supporter, you provide schools with coherent support and challenges in their own capacity building. You have a coordinating role and are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on initiatives.

The department is currently developing a model to achieve a more cohesive governance for operational support and to ensure adequate support for schools with specific challenges. Capacity supporters will play an important role in coordinating this support. The role also includes participating in quality dialogues held between the principal and the head of the administration.

The capacity support aims to generate lasting systematic approaches in schools' development work.

You will be placed in the section for Leadership and Organization. As a capacity supporter, you will be part of a team with other capacity supporters, and the assignment includes sharing knowledge and insights in a joint learning process to best support the schools. You will work both individually and in teams. We expect you to stay updated with current research in your field and on success factors for school development.

Qualifications

You who are applying have an academic education of at least 180 credits. You have at least 3 years of experience as a school leader or equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer. If you have completed the state principal training and have other leadership training, we consider that an advantage. Having worked at an authority such as the School Inspectorate or the National Agency for Education is also seen as a benefit, as well as having experience in leading through others.

You need to have deep knowledge of systematic quality work based on the Education Act, curriculum, and other school regulations, as well as broad competence in various parts of compulsory school. You should have knowledge and experience in leadership and organizing for learning, as well as practical experience working with organizational development. As a capacity supporter, you have experience working process-oriented and possess good process leadership skills. The assignment requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

To thrive in the role, you need to be driven to work in both group contexts and individually. You need to have a holistic perspective, be able to see how things are interconnected, and be responsive to your surroundings. At the same time, you are systematic in your work and ensure that things get done. Furthermore, you have a coaching approach and thrive in a supportive role.

About the Workplace

The section for Leadership and Organization is a section, organizationally placed within the primary school administration's unit School-Near Support and Development. The section works to coordinate and implement initiatives for the administration's activities with a focus on leadership and organization as well as the quality of teaching.

The unit for school-near support and development has the main task of planning, implementing, and following up on school-near support and development work. The unit supports all parts of the administration with process and investigation support and works with the coordination of larger initiatives and projects aimed at schools. The unit supports the management line with development and investigation assignments within the framework of the education managers' functional areas. Here, the department's overall administration is also organized and coordinated.
