Violin Teacher Wanted at Sala Cultural School

About the Workplace

Sala Cultural School is under the culture and leisure committee and is located near the center and train station in its own premises. At the cultural school, about ten educators work together to provide meaningful leisure activities for children and youth.

Job Responsibilities

The position includes 60% violin teaching, where occasional cello students may occur, and you will primarily work with children aged 6-20 years, both individually and in groups. You will take responsibility for your student groups and strive for good relationships with the students and their families. In consultation with the manager, you will be responsible for scheduling and following up on the schedule as well as necessary administration, and participate in weekly meetings. Together with the manager, colleagues, and students, you will plan activities based on the Cultural School's goals and commitments, such as outreach activities and concerts.

Qualifications

Music pedagogical higher education with violin as the main subject or equivalent competence acquired in another way. Additional instruments are an advantage. You should have knowledge of and preferably experience in group teaching and orchestral/ensemble playing. You should have pedagogical insight and good collaboration skills, as well as being self-driven and proactive.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

60% temporary position mainly during afternoons and evenings. A few occasions on weekends. Start date no earlier than 2026-01-08 and the position lasts until 2026-06-17. Thereafter, there is a possibility for extension. Individual salary setting. A criminal record extract must be presented before employment.
