Election to Parliament, Regional and Municipal Councils 2026
On Sunday, September 13, 2026, there will be elections to the Parliament, Regional and Municipal Councils.
The County Administrative Board of Örebro County is the regional electoral authority and is responsible for the final counting of the votes.
We are looking for individuals who thrive in a structured environment, are accustomed to working within given frameworks and rules, and have an interest in society. If you are also a meticulous person with a good sense of numbers, you will fit well into the role of staff member for the final vote counting of the 2026 elections.
Job Description
The tasks involve you, as a vote counter, being responsible for counting, reviewing, assessing, and sorting ballots as well as preparing lists. The tasks are performed under certain time pressure and can at times be monotonous. We are looking for 36 vote counters and 4 reserves for the counting of votes. As a vote counter, you will need to complete a mandatory training of about three hours before the elections.
Qualifications
To be suitable as a vote counter, you must be at least 18 years old. You should have an interest in and understanding of the democratic process. Previous experience with similar tasks in connection with election work is an advantage. As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, and interested in societal issues. You are methodical and structured with a good ability to follow given instructions and collaborate well with others.
You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. We place great importance on personal suitability.
Employment
The employment is temporary from September 14 to September 25, 2026. Working hours are from 08:00 to 17:00. The end date is preliminary based on voter turnout, and longer working days may occur. To be eligible for the position, you must be able to work all days.
Security interviews will be conducted prior to employment. It may also be relevant with a security screening with background checks according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) for this position. More information about what a security screening entails will be provided during the recruitment process.

- Tuesday, February 10, from 13:30 to 15:00
- Thursday, February 12, from 09:00 to 10:30
- Wednesday, February 25, from 09:00 to 10:30
