Here you will have a varied, qualified, and socially important assignment in a stimulating environment with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues. Apply today and make an impact in our organization!
The Swedish Energy Agency
The Swedish Energy Agency works for a fossil-free and robust energy supply. Security of supply, competitiveness, and ecological sustainability are perspectives that must be combined to secure the energy system of the future.
Your tasks - Analyze, influence, and build the energy systems of the future
As a research officer, you will work both strategically and operationally. Your tasks include planning and designing research programs and calls for proposals based on society's demands for a transition to sustainable energy sources. You will handle applications for our research programs, liaise with various stakeholders, prepare decision-making materials, and follow up on projects in our project portfolio. The work also involves driving and organizing meetings, seminars, and conferences, and representing the agency in various contexts. You will build networks and create contacts both nationally and internationally.
The research efforts, which combine social science and technical or natural science perspectives, focus on complex interactions within the energy sector. They target problem- and challenge-oriented research on the interrelations of energy systems and their interactions with the surrounding society and its actors. Based on your expertise, you will also contribute to monitoring the external environment and developing the agency's long-term research and innovation strategies.
Qualifications
We believe you may be early in your career and have a strong interest in solving energy and climate transitions. You have a systems perspective and the ability to think ahead. Furthermore, you have an academic degree (equivalent to at least three years of full-time studies) in, for example, economics, socio-technical systems, political science, behavioral science or environmental science, energy systems, or other education that the Swedish Energy Agency deems equivalent. You have excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of modern IT systems.
Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience in research, investigations, or practice related to societal transitions.
Personal qualities
We place great importance on personal qualities. To succeed in the role, you need to take initiative and responsibility for your tasks. As a person, you are unpretentious and it is natural for you to have a holistic perspective on complex issues and to be open and curious about new angles. Your ability to collaborate and build relationships is strong, and you are structured, planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. You can switch between strategic and operational tasks. We look forward to meeting you with drive, commitment, and interest in the position!
