The Workers' Educational Association (ABF) is Sweden's leading study association. We offer study circles, courses, lectures, and cultural events in all municipalities across the country.

We are now looking for a development officer for our creative and idea-driven department. We focus on education and serve as a pedagogical resource for our member and partner organizations. We are both organizers and co-organizers of various study circles and cultural programs. Furthermore, we are constantly working to create meeting places for people. Meeting places that are supported by our values and ABF's ideological program, a work that you will be a part of. ABF Aros covers Uppsala County, Västerås, Fagersta, Norberg, and Sala, and we currently have 25 employees.

Job Responsibilities

The role of the development officer includes both operational and strategic work. You will work with educational activities together with groups primarily in music, identify educational needs in everyday life, seek new collaborations with groups and associations, and find ways for alternative funding of activities. Your main areas of work include the development of existing music activities in our rehearsal spaces in Västerås.

The work involves:

• Coming up with ideas, serving as a pedagogical resource, and enabling activities together with our member and partner organizations, free groups, and local actors.
• Administration and reporting of educational activities.
• Actively working to identify educational opportunities in everyday life.
• Providing pedagogical support for circle leaders.
• Quality follow-up of educational activities.
• Networking and collaborations with other actors.
• Being a support in project applications.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in organizing, leading, and developing activities.
• Is structured and plans and prioritizes work effectively.
• Is used to working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Is administratively skilled.
• Has the ability to create and maintain trustworthy relationships.
• Has strong collaboration skills and a flexible approach.
• Is passionate about folk education, non-profit organizations, and community life.
• Can work both independently and in a team.
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.
• Has practical knowledge in stage technology, music production, and music organization.

Meritorious

Experience in similar work and if you are involved in music yourself is meritorious. We value if you have good networks in the music scene within the geographical area. Knowledge of our system Gustav. A B driver's license and access to your own car.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment, full-time. A six-month probationary period applies. Start date by agreement.

Unregulated working hours that include evening and weekend work. You will be based in Västerås but travel within Västmanland and Uppsala County will occur.
