Archivist at the County Administrative Board of Västmanland

Job Responsibilities

As an archivist, you will be part of a smaller group that works closely together on tasks that span several areas. The role is broad and varied, which provides an opportunity to develop both your competence and understanding of the authority's information flows. You will also partially work as a registrar to relieve other registrars.

You will, among other things:

• organize, catalog, and care for the authority's archive holdings
• execute, investigate needs for, and process cases regarding archiving
• handle confidentiality assessments and the release of public documents
• conduct training on information management issues
• develop and produce governing documents regarding information management
• participate in the national archive network of the County Administrative Boards
• relieve registrars by being part of the ongoing schedule for mail and email management and replace during absences

Part of the assignment also involves supporting case officers in their work with record-keeping and case management. This means both practical support in how the systems are used and guidance on the registration of documents and cases. To thrive, you need to have an interest in systems and a pedagogical flair that allows you to explain things clearly and appropriately.

You will also become part of the County Administrative Board's crisis organization with a focus on signal protection issues. The pace can sometimes be high; it is important that you enjoy that and can maintain high quality and good service even in those moments. You need to be comfortable working with many different types of tasks.

About the Workplace

You will be part of the support and governance unit, where we are 22 employees – lawyers, economists, business developers, investigators, procurement officers, registrars, and archivists. We are responsible for, among other things, record-keeping and archives, procurement, case management, and data protection issues.

The work with record-keeping and archives constitutes a central service function to the public through the handling of the County Administrative Board's public documents. The function is also governing and supportive for the authority's entire operations within document and case management. In the group, there are two registrars, one administrator, one coordinator, and you as the archivist. Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• an academic education with a focus on archival science, information science, or a similar field. Alternatively, equivalent experience in archival work.
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• experience in administrative work within state or public operations.
• experience or knowledge of the registrar role in a public organization.
