Committed Vocational Teacher for Electrical and Energy Program
At Universitetsholmens Gymnasium, we are looking for a committed vocational teacher for the Electrical and Energy Program. The position is a permanent full-time employment, and in addition, a lead teacher assignment is offered, a fixed-term appointment for three academic years with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities
As a vocational teacher, you work to help students develop their full potential – both academically and socially. You support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their conditions, to prepare them for their future professional roles. Your work includes planning, teaching, assessment, as well as evaluation and development of the educational activities, in accordance with the school's governing documents.
You will:
- plan, implement, and continuously develop, adapt, and modify teaching and pedagogical methods based on the needs of the student group
- support, motivate, and stimulate students' knowledge development based on their individual conditions
- follow up on students' learning, work, progress, and development to continuously document, follow up, and provide feedback on how each student relates to the knowledge requirements
- create conditions for each student's goal fulfillment based on the curriculum, examination goals, and subject plans
- issue written assessments and conduct grading in relation to the goals
- act as a mentor for students
- collaborate with IoF and BUP as needed
In addition to teaching, you will work with your lead teacher colleagues on development assignments identified in the systematic quality work. The assignment includes supporting and developing the pedagogical work for vocational teachers in the Electrical and Energy Program, as well as disseminating subject knowledge and vocational skills and providing support to colleagues in various ways. Qualifications
Requirements:
- vocational teacher education with authorization to teach in character courses in the Electrical and Energy Program
- several years of professional experience in the electrical and energy industry
- very good subject knowledge
- experience in using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
- very good Swedish in speech and writing.
For the lead teacher assignment, it is also required that you have:
- at least four years of documented well-rated work with teaching within the framework of one or more positions in the school system
- demonstrated particularly good ability to develop teaching and students' academic results and otherwise assessed as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching
- good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply them in daily work.
Meritorious:
- experience working as a leading installer and/or supervisor
- experience working with systematic quality work, that is, identifying areas for development, leading development processes, and evaluating
- experience in lead teacher assignments.
We are looking for someone who is confident in the vocational teacher role and creates good conditions for students' learning and development. You adapt teaching to the student's and group's conditions and prior knowledge through a creative approach and excellent pedagogical ability. Your working style is characterized by good structure, and you prioritize and organize tasks effectively. You understand how students' backgrounds, cultures, and previous experiences affect learning and interaction, and you create an inclusive learning environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Additionally, you contribute to good relationships and communicate openly, clearly, and attentively with your surroundings. It is important that you have good collaboration skills and can take a leading role in driving parts of the development work forward.
