About the Position

The Child and Family Unit within the Social Services in Gagnef Municipality is now seeking a social worker for work with investigations and interventions for children and families.

Within the authority part of the unit, we are divided into reception secretaries, social workers, family law secretaries, and foster care secretaries. We support each other in our work and collaborate to carry out our mission in the best way possible. Together with our family team that works with open interventions, we focus on children and families. We have started our work transitioning to the new Social Services Act and will further develop our work to focus on promoting and preventive interventions. We have a project manager to support the work with the new Social Services Act. Being a smaller municipality means we work in all stages of an investigation.

With us, you will have a stimulating and responsible job as a social worker with great opportunities to influence and develop the operations. You will receive regular internal method supervision from the lead social worker. The workgroup also receives external process supervision.

We have a 39-hour workweek and flexible hours. A wellness allowance of 1500 SEK per year. For those employed for at least 12 months, there is also the possibility to purchase an annual public transport pass for Dalatrafik.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker in the child and family area, you will primarily work with investigations of children and families' needs for support and assistance, as well as granting and following up on interventions for these children and families. Depending on interest and experience, the tasks can be adapted.

Qualifications

Since your work often involves meeting people in crisis and vulnerable situations, it is important that your approach is empathetic, attentive, and trustworthy. You need to be confident in meeting individuals, families, and also working in group contexts. Working with children and families in need of support and assistance may require you to handle unpredictability and maintain calm in pressured situations while making sound judgments in the moment.

You represent our operations in a professional manner in all situations and have a good ability to collaborate both internally and externally. It is important that you can plan and structure your work so that deadlines, legal requirements, quality, and routines are adhered to.

We are looking for someone with a Swedish degree in social work, BBIC training, experience in authority work within child and family services, and knowledge of legislation and regulations regarding case management in the area. It is an advantage if you have training in Signs of Safety and FREDA. Experience as a reception secretary is also a merit.

The child perspective is obvious to you, and humility, understanding, and professionalism characterize your way of meeting people. You should have a good command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Since driving is part of the job, you need to have a valid driver's license (B).

Conditions

The position is a 100% permanent position. Start date by agreement. Interviews may take place during the application period.
