Welcome to the Unit for Harmful Use and Dependence

We are now looking for a staff member for the Unit for Harmful Use and Dependence. The unit is responsible for governmental activities and our target group is individuals aged 18 and older. Our common mission is significant, and we are here for the residents of Falun.

As a social worker in the Unit for Harmful Use and Dependence, you will have a fun and stimulating job. You will have friendly colleagues and an important and rewarding mission. We work closely with the social advisors at the advisory unit, with whom we also share a manager.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker, you are responsible for governmental activities and for investigating individual needs for treatment measures based on substance abuse/dependence issues. This may include statements, investigations, assessments, decisions, and follow-ups on decided measures. The National Board of Health and Welfare's national guidelines in the area are guiding regarding investigation methods and measures that are granted.

Your role also includes close collaboration with both internal and external partners where we need to coordinate any measures. Our own advisory unit is an important part of the measures we grant, and we have a close collaboration to ensure the right treatment measures for our clients.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

  • Degree in Social Work
  • Experience in governmental activities relevant to the position
  • Driver's license (B)

As a person, you are self-assured, responsible, and have a structured working style characterized by order. You are proactive and have an easy time building good relationships and collaborating with both us and external parties. Furthermore, we see you as a creative motivational factor who enjoys acting independently within given frameworks but is also flexible and can adapt when the situation requires it. You are open, curious, and have a good ability to see opportunities and can handle that we are an organization with constant development issues. You also have an interest in meeting the target group with dependence issues.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Training in ASI (Addiction Severity Index) and good experience in conducting structured interviews according to the method
  • Experience in exit programs
  • Experience and knowledge of the authority's responsibilities and applicable legislation.
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent employment at the Employment and Social Administration. The position starts in the Unit for Harmful Use and Dependence but may be transferred to another unit within the Employment and Social Administration if conditions change.
