The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) Region Dalarna offers specialized care for children and adolescents up to 18 years old with more severe mental health issues and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities. Our area of expertise is broad and encompasses issues such as trauma, depression, self-harm, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, sleep disorders, and disabilities such as ADHD and autism. We work across professions to provide the best assessments and care for our children and adolescents. BUP Region Dalarna consists of five outpatient clinics as well as a regional resource with an emergency team, ward 68 for inpatient care, a family therapy unit, and the eating disorder unit Tornet, all of which are under a common operations manager.

The BUP clinic in Ludvika is located at Ludvika Hospital. The clinic has pleasant facilities in a calm environment. Here, a warm, cheerful professional team works with nurses, social workers, psychologists, doctors, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, and a manager. The clinic's operations cover the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken.

Within BUP Region Dalarna, there are opportunities for education and further training. We offer psychotherapy supervision for those working in treatment. As a new social worker, you will be assigned an experienced colleague as a mentor. During your first year, you will undergo a form of introductory training with various components aimed at complementing and deepening your child psychiatric knowledge so that you are ready to meet the demands of the operation. As your knowledge and experience increase, you will gradually take on greater responsibility.

Do you want to help make a difference for children and adolescents with mental health issues? We are now looking for a social worker with basic psychotherapeutic training in CBT, focusing on assessment and treatment, for our child and adolescent psychiatric clinic.

As a social worker, you contribute the psychosocial perspective in health and medical care, including psychological, systemic, and social legal perspectives regarding patients and their families. You are an important team member in the interdisciplinary collaboration where you have particularly good knowledge of societal and social factors that can underlie poor health and child psychiatric symptoms. In the position, you will work with:

• Mapping, assessment, diagnosis, and conversation treatment of children and adolescents.
• Individual CBT treatment for children and adolescents with various forms of mental health issues, often in combination with neuropsychiatric conditions.
• Supportive conversations and suicide prevention.
• Parental support and family interventions.
• Group treatments, such as anxiety and depression groups.
• Follow-up and evaluation of treatment efforts.

The work also often includes contact and collaboration with healthcare neighbors, schools, and social services. You actively collaborate with the team at the clinic to receive support in patient work.

Requirements:

• Degree in social work
• Licensed health and medical care social worker
• Basic psychotherapeutic training, CBT

Desirable:

• Experience working with children and adolescents

Personal qualities:

To succeed in the role, you need to be secure, have good collaboration skills, be structured yet flexible, and be able to adapt treatment methods to individual needs. You meet children and families where they are and instill trust. You enjoy challenges and taking personal responsibility in treatments and patient matters. You want to help create a good working environment and contribute ideas for operational development. We also hope you are interested in the development and quality assurance of treatment efforts aimed at the target group. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
