Do you want an exciting, interesting, and challenging job? We are now looking for a counselor for elementary school grades F-6.

The employment is within the central Student Health Unit of the preschool and elementary school administration, which includes about 30 employees from various professional groups such as special educators, counselors, psychologists, school nurses, and school doctors. The operations are conducted partly at the Student Health Unit in central Mora in the same building as Mora Family Center and partly in the operations at our preschools and elementary schools, and to some extent also at the high school when they purchase certain services from us. The counseling group consists of six positions. This position encompasses a 100% permanent employment. There is an option to have a leave of absence service, which means you will receive 0.92% of your salary if you are under 40 years old and 0.95% of your salary if you are over 40 years old, and you will then be off during Christmas and summer holidays. If you do not want this option, it is a vacation service. A wellness allowance of 1200 SEK per year is available.

We offer you mentoring support from an experienced colleague during your employment, regular collegial support in your professional group, and external supervision together with others in the counseling group. You work daytime, weekdays, and have the opportunity to influence your working hours within certain frameworks; some administrative tasks can be performed remotely by agreement with your manager.

Job Responsibilities

The Student Health Service primarily works preventively and health-promoting to support students' development towards the goals of education. You will, among other things, make assessments, provide advice, support to students and guardians, and be able to supervise school staff in the psychosocial area. The work involves both interventions with individual students and also with groups of students.

You work transprofessionally in teams and have close cooperation with other professionals within the Student Health Unit, with the principal, and various professionals employed at the school as well as with various external actors. The work also involves a considerable amount of independent work where you control your own agenda and take responsibility for ensuring that your tasks are completed.

Qualifications

You should have a degree in social work or another relevant education as well as experience from the profession. Experience in educational activities and working with students in need of special support is an advantage.

You have the ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, staff, and colleagues. You have a customer- and citizen-oriented approach with students and guardians in focus. You should be able to contribute to the overall student health work with your professional competence and have the ability to collaborate in transprofessional teams. You are communicative, flexible, have a positive attitude, are solution-focused, and development-oriented. You can also structure your own work and work independently. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Knowledge

• Higher education, degree in social work or another relevant education
• Knowledge of current governing documents and legislation
• Proficiency in the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• Ability to use a computer as a working tool
• Knowledge of other languages is an advantage
