Disability Inspector at the Social Administration in Stockholm
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
The Social Administration in the City of Stockholm has an overarching and coordinating role for social services concerning individual and family care and the area of disabilities. Here, we create good conditions to meet residents in need of social services support. In close collaboration with the district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service, and we have a strong focus on development. Within the administration, a wide range of support measures is offered to the city's residents, and the offerings change based on the needs of Stockholmers and the wishes of the district administrations. The work often occurs in close cooperation with other authorities, civil society, and the business community. The Social Administration is also responsible for the city's serving and tobacco permits and conducts supervision.
Do you want to contribute to the development and quality of the city's services for people with disabilities, including social psychiatry, through review work? Then the role of Disability Inspector may be of interest to you!
Welcome to Us
The Department of Strategy and Development works for equality and coordination within the city's social services. This is done by, among other things, developing guidelines and policy documents, driving development projects, conducting training and reviews, and coordinating networks for social services managers and employees. The department consists of eight units. This role is placed in the unit Competence Center for Disabilities and Social Psychiatry, where we have 17 employees. Our unit is responsible for investigation, guidance, support, and follow-up of the city's social services and disability care. The workplace is located in Farsta Centrum, close to the subway and a shopping mall with a wide range of restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Your role will involve working in Farsta Centrum but also in other locations within the City of Stockholm.
"In this role, you will contribute to strengthening quality and equality in social services. We are looking for someone driven by development and who wants to make a difference for the city's residents." -Recruiting Manager Sara Rahm Pernold
We Offer
With us, you will work alongside competent and development-oriented colleagues in a department that has a city-wide focus on development and equality. Here, you will gain an overarching perspective on the entire City of Stockholm's social services and the development work that is taking place.
We also offer:
- a workplace in constant development
- wellness allowance or wellness time 1h/week during working hours
- flexible working hours
- possibility for vacation exchange
- winter and summer hours.
Your Role
You will be responsible for conducting quality reviews of social services in the city for people with disabilities, including social psychiatry. You will carry out your work together with a colleague in the same role. You will also collaborate closely with two social service inspectors who review operations within individual and family care.
The review work should contribute to good and equivalent quality in the city's social service operations and serves as a complement to other quality follow-ups. The quality reviews are based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's definition of good quality and include a focus on user perspective and legal security. Legislation and the city's guidelines govern your work. The assignment involves planning and conducting the entire review process. This includes, among other things, examining whether needs and living conditions are met through interventions and how the individual's right to self-determination and participation is ensured. The review results are then fed back to the reviewed operations. To contribute to the greatest possible development, it is important that the review is conducted in close collaboration with the district administrations.
The role places high demands on integrity and the ability to analyze issues from different perspectives. To succeed and thrive in the role, drive, curiosity, and openness are required, as well as a good ability and willingness to collaborate with others.
Your Tasks Include
- reviewing control and routine documents
- familiarizing yourself with case handling, including the implementation and follow-up of interventions
- conducting site visits and participating in operational meetings
- conducting surveys and interviews with operational employees and managers
- compiling results in reports
- feeding back results to the reviewed operations
- spreading results and good examples, e.g., through conferences and via competence development initiatives
- participating in various activities that contribute to learning and development in the city's social services.
The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
