We are looking for a support assistant for housing unit 3 in Tyresö municipality.

Operations for people with disabilities (LSS). Here, a staff group with a lot of competence and experience works with great commitment. We provide support and service to 10 people living in Tyresö.

In this workplace, you will work alone at times, meaning that even if you have colleagues, you rarely work simultaneously. This places high demands on the collaboration and communication skills of the person we are looking for. We are in a process of change and are looking for individuals who enjoy working on the development/improvement of the operations and recognize the importance of a joint pedagogical approach. We have joint meetings every week, three operational meetings, and one APT during a month to quality assure the operations together.

About the Position

The role of the support assistant involves providing support to the individuals living here, according to their individual implementation plans, as well as support and service based on needs and wishes. The interventions can involve all areas of the individuals' lives, from helping with cooking and cleaning to providing support for personal purchases, contacts with authorities, and healthcare contacts, etc. We always start from the individual and what they wish for the day, the week, or generally in life and adapt accordingly.

In addition to providing support, you will be responsible for social documentation, creating individual implementation plans, communication mapping, and risk analyses together with the resident. You will also contribute to quality development for the operations and be active in the work environment efforts. You will work according to a rolling schedule over four weeks - day, evening, weekend, and sleeping on duty in parallel.

We collaborate with many different parties based on the individuals' wishes and needs, such as relatives, legal representatives, daily activities, assistance officers, occupational therapists, nurses, etc.

Who Are You?

To succeed in the role of support assistant, you are an educated social pedagogue, educator, mental health worker, and/or nursing assistant, preferably with a focus on psychiatry or equivalent education.

We are looking for a person with a good ability to motivate and communicate, contributing to good collaboration in a workgroup. You should have a good understanding of individual differences and be able to adapt your professional approach accordingly. You strive to make everyone involved and create conditions for individuals to live as independently as possible.

To be considered for this position, you must have knowledge and experience in preventing challenging behaviors. You should have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and documentation according to LSS. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement for this role. You have previous experience supporting adults with NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities) and individuals with mental health issues. It is an advantage if you have taken a course in Motivational Interviewing and have previously worked in service housing.
