About the group home Smålandsvägen 1

The group home Smålandsvägen is located in the Sävja district, about 7 km from Uppsala city center. The group home consists of five apartments, each with a room, sleeping alcove, and kitchenette. Each apartment also has its own outdoor area. Residents choose whether they want to cook and eat in their own apartments or together in the shared kitchen.

Your responsibilities

As a support educator, you work closely with the residents and are an important part of creating a safe and meaningful everyday life. You provide support and care, motivate and participate in leisure activities, and work systematically based on implementation plans.

Your responsibilities include:

• ensuring that each person's needs are met for a predictable, safe, and joyful everyday life
• maintaining contact with actors in the user's network
• writing and updating implementation plans based on individual needs
• working with alternative communication, including visual support, to strengthen the user's autonomy
• pedagogically leading and inspiring the staff group and creating understanding for visual support and structures
• collaborating with colleagues to ensure good teamwork

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• is a qualified support educator
• has experience working within LSS
• has experience working with visual support and other forms of alternative augmentative communication
• has knowledge of low-arousal approaches and augmentative communication
• has good command of Swedish in both speech and writing

A valid driver's license (B) is an advantage.

As a person, you are calm, stable, and secure in stressful situations. You are attentive, cooperative, and have the ability to understand others' perspectives. You have a pedagogical approach and the ability to engage and inspire the staff group. Additionally, you have good pedagogical insight and understanding of people's different circumstances.
