Nexus

Nexus is Uppsala Municipality's reception for individuals over 18 who have been subjected to violence in close relationships and honor-related violence and oppression. Nexus also provides support to individuals who are victims of prostitution and human trafficking for sexual purposes. The unit works with authority functions by investigating support needs and granting various forms of interventions. Social workers at Nexus also conduct support conversations and group activities. At Nexus, there is a unit manager, a team leader, an administrator, and 11 social workers.

Your Responsibilities

Work at Nexus primarily involves providing support to individuals who have been subjected to violence by someone close or who have been exploited in prostitution or human trafficking for sexual purposes. In the role of Social Worker/Therapist, you will be part of the internal outpatient care and be responsible for conducting conversation series aimed at providing advice and support to victims of violence. You will also participate in the unit's preventive work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker or has other education deemed equivalent by the employer. To succeed in this role, you also need experience working with the target group. It is considered an advantage if you have further education at the university level in domestic violence. It is also advantageous if you have basic psychotherapy training and/or further education in honor-related violence and oppression. The work requires good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

As a person, you are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. You have the ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation without taking over their feelings. Furthermore, you work well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. Last but not least, you are secure in your professional role and have the courage to act according to your own convictions.
