Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for two dedicated children's librarians who want to continue our work in making the library a natural and safe place for children and their adults. Our vision is that every child leaves us with a sense of joy for reading and curiosity for stories and new knowledge.

In our children's team, we try new working methods and activities. Together we test ideas and learn from past experiences. As a team, we develop a service that makes a difference. One position has a particular focus on adapted and easy-to-read media, while the other position has a greater focus and responsibility for the target group with different linguistic backgrounds.

The job responsibilities include:

• Developing the reading promotion activities for the target group aged 6 to 12 years together with colleagues.
• Particular focus and responsibility for adapted and easy-to-read media. Together with a colleague, be responsible for the Apple Shelf and reading promotion activities for the target group.
• Particular focus and responsibility for the target group with different linguistic backgrounds. Together with a colleague, be responsible for reading promotion activities for the target group.
• Collaborate to create inspiring activities that spark children's curiosity and reading enthusiasm.
• Information service which involves scheduled service days, evenings, and weekends, as well as service on our children's book buses.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in library and information science.
• Experience in library work aimed at children and young people.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge of children's media worlds and very good literary knowledge of children's and youth literature.
• Experience in planning and implementing programs and activities for the target group.
• Experience working with children from different linguistic backgrounds or experience adapting services and interactions for children with different needs.
• Experience inspiring children and adults around them to read and tell stories.
