The Culture and Leisure Administration is responsible for the municipality's tourism activities, cultural school, library, children's and adult culture, culture and leisure centers, and support for associations.

The Tjörn municipal library consists of a main library, an integrated school and public library, and six school libraries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to create a love for reading and help children and young people discover the possibilities of libraries. With us, you will work in both of the best worlds: in our public library and in our school libraries, together with engaged colleagues who want to make a difference in young people's everyday lives.

As a librarian focused on children and youth, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing activities that strengthen reading, information literacy, and creativity. You will work both at the public library and in the school library in close collaboration with the school library team and children's librarian, together with educators in the schools and with colleagues at the public library.

Job responsibilities include, among others:

• planning and conducting book talks, language-stimulating activities, and reading promotion programs.
• working at the information desk providing service, guidance, and support to visitors according to schedule. Some evening and weekend work is included.
• contributing to the development of the library's collection, services, and digital resources.
• class visits, guidance, and support in information retrieval.
• contributing to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring reading environment at the library.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should be a graduated librarian. Experience working in school libraries and/or with children and youth is an advantage. You need to have a driver's license.
