About the Job

As a trainee in the Network Section, you will contribute to the team from day one. Together, we deliver and operate complete IT infrastructure solutions that simplify life for millions of individuals and businesses. Our systems contribute to a well-functioning society by creating conditions for taxation, population registration, democratic elections, crime fighting, and international cooperation.

The Swedish Tax Agency's IT trainee program is in its fifth year, and we are now planning for the next start where we want to hire up to 20 trainees in 3 different locations. During the program, you will gain knowledge about the Swedish Tax Agency's operations and build on your experience. You will have an individual development plan that is followed up and revised during the program period so that you can create the best setup based on your conditions and the needs of the organization. You will have an experienced mentor for support and guidance. The trainee program lasts for 12 months, and your daily work consists of practical training, education, theme days, and workshops, alongside working in the team. The program's structure is carefully designed to give you the best start to your career. Naturally, the program begins with a kick-off.

We are looking for a trainee for our network team that operates a large and critical environment primarily based on Cisco products. The network team is responsible for everything from office networks to data center environments and firewalls. Here, you will work in production and develop your skills in routing, switching, security, and data center solutions. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to understand the whole IT infrastructure through close collaboration with our teams for backup, storage, and virtualization.

As a trainee in the Network Section, you will use your problem-solving skills to contribute to stable and secure solutions that facilitate everyday life for many. In our large IT department with nearly 1500 colleagues, you have the opportunity to develop while contributing to societal benefits. You belong to the Network Section at the Swedish Tax Agency's Technical Service Unit in the IT department, located in Sundbyberg. In our section, we are 29 colleagues.

About You

In this job, you should:

• be a team player and ensure both the group's and your own performance

• express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and communicate in an engaging manner.

You should also have:

• a current or recently completed relevant education in IT (at least 180 credits) from a university or college with graduation from 2024 or later, but no later than August 2026
• relevant experience in networking, e.g., routing and switching, preferably with practical experience of Cisco products from studies, project work, or labs
• relevant experience with firewalls and/or network security from studies, project work, or labs

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period.

An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with background checks according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
