Enrollment Officer at the Swedish National Board of Recruitment and Assessment
We ensure that the right people end up in the right places – in the defense and in essential societal roles.
We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to Sweden's security! Are you the one we are looking for?
Our enrollment officers are part of a decision-making chain where we make official decisions regarding enrollment for basic training with military or civil service obligations. The decisions include both those who have been called for conscription and those who have made a personal application to be considered for basic military training.
In Stockholm, we are located at Gärdet in fine premises close to the subway.
Your Responsibilities
In the role of enrollment officer, you will meet young adults who are guided in conversations about their opportunities to complete basic training based on the Armed Forces' position requirements. As an officer, you will make independent decisions about training placements and investigate cases concerning individuals subject to total defense obligations. You will be the contact person for one or more units that train the soldiers and sailors for whom you and your future colleagues have made decisions. As a contact person, unit visits are included, and you will be involved in planning for expanded conscription and often participate on-site during implementation.
In addition to those undergoing conscription and assessment, you will also work with individuals undergoing assessments for other assignments.
Your workplace is at the assessment unit in Stockholm within the enrollment unit. A corresponding unit also exists in Malmö and Gothenburg, and in the autumn of 2026, a unit will also be established in Umeå.
We have a friendly atmosphere and a strong loyalty to our employees within the enrollment unit for basic training and the entire agency. To create a sense of community, there may occasionally be rotation service to your colleagues at the four (soon to be five) other locations.
Your Qualifications
You are or have been employed as a professional officer or specialist officer with good, current knowledge of the Armed Forces' areas of work and regulations.
It is an advantage if you have trained soldiers or worked with staffing issues within the Armed Forces and have knowledge of the tasks of various positions.
Your Personal Qualities
For this task, you need to be attentive and have an easy time communicating with people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. You enjoy collaborating but also take responsibility for planning and structuring your own work.
About the Employment
As an officer, you retain your employment in the Armed Forces during the time you are employed at the National Board of Recruitment and Assessment under what is called a professional officer at another authority, YAM. We offer a fixed-term employment of up to three years, which can be extended for an additional three-year period.
If you no longer have an employment as an officer in the Armed Forces, you will be offered a permanent position within the National Board of Recruitment and Assessment, starting with a six-month probationary period.
Due to the nature of the work, you cannot work from home, but we hope this can instead contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. You have the opportunity to train during work hours and are offered a favorable wellness allowance. We also offer parental leave supplements and up to 35 vacation days depending on age.
The employment is security classified, and therefore we conduct a security review with background checks according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required.
With employment comes an obligation to be placed in wartime.
We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to reflect the society we operate in. We look forward to receiving your application!
To apply to us, you do not need to write a personal letter. Instead, we have chosen to focus on selection questions and your CV for a value-free recruitment process.
About Us
At the National Board of Recruitment and Assessment, we work to make Sweden safer. Our main task is to enlist, enroll in basic training, and register personnel in the war organization.
