Regionsjukhuset Karsudden in Katrineholm is a forensic psychiatric hospital with 155 care places, offering highly specialized national healthcare. Most patients are treated under the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act (LRV). The goal of forensic psychiatric care is to improve individual patients' mental health to enable them to live in society. Forensic psychiatric care must also consider community protection by working to prevent recidivism. At Regionsjukhuset Karsudden, care and treatment are characterized by a person-centered approach where each patient is included in the planning and execution of their care to achieve the goal. Your Responsibilities

The role of research coordinator entails overall responsibility for developing and supporting the research activities at Regionsjukhuset Karsudden in Katrineholm. As forensic psychiatry is a relatively small branch consisting of several smaller units across the country, the role also involves national collaboration with other forensic psychiatric clinics.

The research coordinator position is organizationally placed under the patient safety unit, where much of the hospital-wide follow-up occurs. You report to the head of the patient safety unit and have the patient safety coordinator as your closest colleague, but the role of research coordinator involves collaboration with all hospital operations and functions. Supportive, educational, and mentoring efforts will be part of the position.

Your Qualifications

The research coordinator we are looking for is communicative, driven, and curious. You have a genuine desire to develop forensic psychiatric research and contribute to new knowledge at the hospital. To succeed in this role, you need the ability to build contacts and develop collaborations, which is why we place great importance on personal qualities. You see the value in working cross-professionally and can balance different perspectives. Furthermore, a well-developed analytical ability and understanding of complex relationships and contexts are required to achieve results that ultimately benefit the patients treated within forensic psychiatry. Based on your analytical skills, you can draw conclusions and translate them into practical solutions.

We are looking for someone with a basic education in healthcare and a documented research background. You have an interest and experience in working within forensic psychiatry and want to help develop research and knowledge management at a hospital for the future.
