Instructor/Educator for Gröna Rum – Eskilstuna

Medborgarskolan Mitt is looking for an instructor/educator for our establishment of Gröna Rum in Eskilstuna. Gröna Rum is a folk education and job preparation initiative for foreign-born individuals that aims to develop their Swedish language skills and prepare them for future employment through practical activities, crafts, and learning about the labor market.

About the Assignment

As an instructor/educator, you will plan, lead, and follow up on group activities and provide individual support. You will work closely with participants to:

• Guide work training in sewing.
• Strengthen participants' language development in everyday situations.
• Prepare for internships, jobs, or studies by supporting them in writing CVs/applications, interview training, and guidance.
• Create individual action plans and follow up on progress.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (e.g., the Employment Service).

Qualifications

• Experience in pedagogical work/guidance in groups and individually (folk education, labor market initiatives, or similar).
• Documented ability to plan, implement, and evaluate activities.
• Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form; comfortable supporting language development in everyday life.
• Experience working inclusively and building relationships with participants from diverse backgrounds.

Meritorious

• Craft skills in textiles.
• Experience from SFI/language support or intercultural work.
• Familiarity with the democratic goals of folk education.
• Proficiency in systems (Microsoft 365/Teams) and basic administrative skills.

Personal Qualities

You are attentive, structured, confident in a group leadership role, and you see people. You build trust, create participation, and have a solution-oriented approach. You are motivated by seeing participants develop step by step.
