The pain clinic is a small unit with close collaboration with the wards at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). The mission of the unit's doctors and nurses includes conducting pain assessments and acting as a consulting service for pain management for hospitalized postoperative patients and patients with advanced pain conditions.
Within the mission of the pain clinic, there is a consulting service for outpatient patients in need of pain assessments and treatment recommendations. At the Pain Clinic, there are opportunities for pain-relieving measures such as pain blocks and radiofrequency treatment when indicated.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In your role as a nurse with us, you will primarily work independently to follow up on postoperative patients with pain pumps. Another part of the operation is our referral follow-up of hospitalized pain patients, which is done together with pain specialists. You will collaborate with healthcare staff in each respective unit and inspire knowledge development.
Patients from primary care come to our newly developed outpatient service for pain assessments and treatment recommendations. In your role as a nurse, you will work in a team with the responsible physician and assist during outpatient visits and treatments. You will also follow up on treatment results and patient cases via phone and 1177.se. In addition to clinical work, you will also help shape guidelines and routines for pain management and develop both overarching and local goals. We work daily with educational issues, and it is important that you are comfortable in the role of both mentor and lecturer.
The care of patients is characterized by evidence-based and scientifically well-founded treatment methods as well as person-centered approaches with respect and empathy. Therefore, we place great emphasis on trust, participation, and personal responsibility in our daily work.

QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying are a licensed nurse with the authority to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. To be considered for the position, you must have previous work experience as a nurse.
Previous work experience in similar operations or relevant further education is considered an advantage. Additionally, it is also an advantage if you have experience in outpatient work and feel comfortable in teaching and educational contexts.
